The HyperArchive root page, and others accessable via its anchors, reflect the contents of an archive directory sorted by NAME. Clicking on a highlighted subdirectory takes you there; lines for files give you the choice of viewing an abstract or downloading the file itself. There is also a primitive SEARCH facility.
The description in the summary entries comes from subject lines of submissions (or, failing that, from file names); they often convey less than useful information (SUBMITTERS, PLEASE NOTE!). Click on the word Abstract in an entry to see an abstract of the file: the prefix of an .HQX binary, or the first 100 lines (whichever is shorter). Click on Download (for .hqx), View (for hypertext), or Read (for text) to fetch the file itself.
Suggestions and comments are welcome, although no promises are made that they will get the attention they deserve...
