Introduction
--------------

IFFSnooper is a utility program for examining and editing the IFF files
used in the Maxis game The Sims(TM) and its expansions.

The current submission includes the program and a readme file. More
information is available at the IFFSnooper website

This program may be included on commercially available Info-Mac CD-ROMs.

What it does
------------

IFFSnooper will open up an object IFF file (usually recognizable by the
.iff file
extension) and display some of its resources. IFFSnooper can also open
up wall
files ( .wll files), floor files ( .flr files) and .FAM files from The
Sims(TM) since these
are just IFF files with alternate file extensions. This allows for
inspection of downloaded custom items before placing them in your game.
IFFSnooper also allows you to edit certain IFF file resources, and to
import images for use in objects, wall files and floor files.

Requirements
------------

IFFSnooper should run on any Mac using OS 8.5 or higher. It has been
tested on OS
versions 8.6 to 10.2.8 (Jaguar). IFFSnooper should also be compatible
with MacOS 10.3 (Panther). The IFFSnooper version for OS X is Carbonized
and
needs Carbon version 1.2.5 or higher.
