Abstract of INFO-MAC archived encoded Mac binary file 'gui/apollo-23-jp.hqx' Uploaded 07/13/1999 1046813 bytes From:Jeremy Roussak Lab Subject:Apollo Apollo 2.3 ========== This is the Japanese translation of version 2.3 of Apollo, the very popular launching utility. "A must-have program" (MacAddict, August 1998) "Apollo, the ultimate launcher ... My advice: grab it before it gets gobbled up by some softare company that knows a $200 product when it sees one" (David Pogue, MacWorld) "The best $30 I ever spent" (DJ: Seattle, WA) "I've never been so pleased with a bit of shareware" (JR: Palo Alto, CA) "The best launcher around" (WS: Surrey, UK) "Many thanks for your amazing software" (RB: Linz, Austria) Apollo is a launching utility. You configure a menu containing those applications, control panels, desk accessories, folders and documents you use frequently. Then, whatever you are doing, a click of the mouse pops up the menu and lets you open any of the configured items. Any item in Apollo's menu can also have its own hot key. You can organise items into groups, with each group having its own submenu. If a group is made "active", selecting its name makes Apollo open all the items in the group seriatim. Apollo can automatically control the sound level and screen depth for each application, changing them as you switch between applications. Apolo also has facilities for switching between applications using keyboard or menu. New features in version 2.3 include "public" groups, which can be included in more than one set, and "pseudonyms", which allow you to rename items so they appear in Apollo's menus under different names. New features in version 2.2 included a contextual menu plugin for one-click configuration (system 7 users are catered for as well), and more options for sorting of folder submenus. New features in version 2.1 included integration with Default Folder (v2.9 or better required), much improved icon handling and the ability to position Apollo's icons anywhere in the menu bar simply by option- clicking and dragging. Apollo 2.3 is shareware: the fee is US$30 or 15 pounds sterling. There are significant discounts for multiple-copy and site licences. There is no upgrade fee for registered users of previous versions. Registration can be made via Kagi Shareware. Registration and online registration utilities are provided as part of the package. Kagi can accept payments by credit card.
