Abstract of INFO-MAC archived encoded Mac binary file 'sci/survival-614c.hqx' Uploaded 06/13/2005 636352 bytes From: urrutia@usal.es Subject: Survival6.1.4c Update Survival allows the user to easily estimate survival functions from censored data and to assess the relationship between survival and a set of both continuous and categorical variables, known as covariates or prognostic factors. Version 6.1.4c includes survival regression analysis with Exponential, Weibull, Log-Normal models and survival analysis with the multivariate non parametric Competing Risks Model. Survival has been tested with native 6800(Mac Quadra 900),Power Macintosh(7600/132) machines with no problems at all. It has also been succesfully tested on iMacs with the G4 processor and with MAC OSX 10.3 running Classic System 9.2 in emulation mode. For PC users, it has been succesfully compiled and tested in a Pentium IV 1.7 GH with Windows XP using the public domain program BasiliskII (we recommend the use of the FPU version of Survival included in the pack and setting the emulation mode for a Mac Quadra 950 and the '6881 or 68040 FPU emulation enabled' checked. I've also received reports that it runs fine with the commercial program Executor(c) from ARDI. Main features of Survival include: -Cox's regression analysis with both fixed and time dependent covariates. -Survival regression analysis with Exponential, Weibull and Log-Normal parametric Models. -Non parametric survival analysis with Competing Risks. -A Text Editor with all the possibilities of edition found in commercial modules -A Macro Option which permits the on-line transformation of data and the on-line computation of the value of Time Dependent covariates. It also includes different statistical macros to compute descriptive statistics, to perform chi-square and Student T-Tests and to estimate exact probabilities for the Normal, F, Student and Chi-Square distributions. -Internal transformation of categorical variables into Indicator Contrast or Deviation Contrast Variables. -Graph plots for all functions and bivariate scatter plots for variables in the active Data Array, which may be saved as Pict files or Printed. -A powerfull macro-language for the on-line transformation of the DataArray in memory and to perform fully automated Survival Analysis. -A survival chart option to estimate the probability of survival for a given individual as a function of an user-defined covariate pattern. -Now the full manual is included in a Help file which is accessed with the Help item from the Apple Menu. If you press the option key down the macro commands help is displayed. To see the latest changes that might not be included in the help window, please read the file named 'SurvivalLastChanges.txt' In this release, an extensive tutorial about the foundations and practical application of survival analysis in both English and Spanish languages is included.
