Abstract of INFO-MAC archived Text file 'vir/a-toast-to-disinfectant.txt' Uploaded 09/30/1994 48961 bytes From: bmunday@tecnet1.jcte.jcs.mil Date: Thu, 29 Sep 94 13:51:40 EDT Subject: Disinfectant: A Toast (Summary) To the moderators: This is a summary of the two files in the \info-mac\vir\ subdirectory entitled "a-toast-to-disinfectant.txt" and "a-toast-to-disinfectant-pt4.txt". It combines the two files into one, and I have also removed a lot of padding with spaces that somehow crept into the subfiles. As a result, this file is only 48k while the two subfiles total 72k. This should reduce (a little bit, at least) the required disk space. Please remove the two older files for me. Thank you. To everyone else: This is a complete summary of the 95 messages I received in response to my request for messages thanking John Norstad and all the other folks who have helped with Disinfectant over the years. Thanks to everyone who wrote; John sent me his thanks for the mailing, which I pass on to all of you. Please, no more mail to me; if you would like to add your thanks, go ahead and tell John Norstad yourself. Thanks. I had the occasion to contact John >once, and was pleasantly surprised at the quick, concise and very friendly >answer. > So with that in mind, I would like to propose a sort of internet-toast to >John Norstad. If you use Disinfectant, have been saved from certain hard >drive hell by its use, if you've appreciated the fact that it's the best virus >program out there, and free besides, if you've contacted John and received a >courteous reply, or if you just have something nice to say about him, then do >the following: > >Send to MY address a BRIEF message thanking him (or anyone else who has >helped) for his work. Please include your email address in the text of the >message. > >For my part, I will wait no more than ONE week and send to John a compilation >of all of those messages. The text of your message will be included (it
