I submitted a file and it has not appeared or it has problems. We are a mirror site, which means that our files are uploaded from the main site nightly. We have no control over the submission/approval process. We do know that it takes 5 - 10 business days for submissions to be included. If there are problems with a submitted file, please contact arch@info-mac.org Go to http://hyperarchive.lcs.mit.edu/HyperArchive/Archive/help/posting-guidelines.txtthe posting guidelines for further contact information. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. How do I submit files? Go to http://hyperarchive.lcs.mit.edu/HyperArchive/Archive/help/posting-guidelines.txt the posting guidelines. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 3. I can't find your info-mac site? The URL is http://hyperarchive.lcs.mit.edu/HyperArchive.html (case-sensitive) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 4. You changed your format Yes, we changed the look of the listings in order to allow a Sherlock plugin to return useful information when searching the archive. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 5. What apps do I need to decompress the files I download? Stuffit Expander works best. Since everything on the archive is binhexed, a "chicken or egg" scenario results when downloading Stuffit Expander from the hyperarchive. We recommend getting a binary expander from: http://www.aladdinsys.com/#SFP ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 6. Where is the information on the CD-Rom version of Info-Mac? http://www.pht.com/catalog/cd_pages/infomacseries.stm ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 7. My machine is doing some weirdness. We really can't resolve your computer problem. Check out the Mac pages at http://www2.apple.com/documents/productsupport.html or go out and by a book, such as The Complete Macintosh or The Macintosh Bible. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 8. Why don't you have XYZ file? Because no one submitted it. And as much as we would like to, we don't have time to hunt down files and submit them ourselves. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 9. I can't find XYZ file? Well, we can't either. If it is an upgrade to software you already have, try the website for the manufacturer or the vendor from whom you purchased. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 10. I can't find any PC software on your site. Frankly. we would be concerned if you did, since it is a Mac site 8-) Go to: http://wuarchive.wustl.edu ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 11. Your links don't work! Chances are that it is between 5 and 6 am Eastern time. Our site is going through it's nightly rebuild. It will be back soon. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 12. I love your service! Thank you very much! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For items not covered by this FAQ, or requiring a human touch, send mail to hyper-prob@lcs.mit.edu hyperarchive@lcs.mit.edu Last updated: Tue Jul 15 19:06:49 EDT 1997
